Why do the news organisations manage to find so many really bad photos to choose from.

So the shambles in York has been voted Britain’s “Most Picturesque” street. So how do the BBC illustrate this point? A bland, rainy, badly focused shot of a mainly deserted with a distracting To Let sign popping in from top left. Did they just ask around the office to see if anyone had a picture on their phone?
I notice they’re begging for pictures at the bottom, let’s hope they’re lucky.
